Green Frog

We found this green frog in a large pothole marsh at the Rockwood Conservation area.  A couple of other green frogs were singing that afternoon, sounding like a chorus of banjos or loud elastics being plucked.  Note the yellow throat, swollen thumbs and ear drums (tympanum) that are larger than his beautiful gold-coloured eyes.  Definitely a male:)

This female green frog was found at the Gosling Gardens in the Guelph Arboretum in May 2007:

*Note that the tympanum is roughly equal in size to her eye.
